Description:
Don’t you ever wonder what goes through the life of your favorite jewelry artist? Haven’t you ever had the desire to go to their place and see how they work, understand what makes their creative muse speak and how they go about their business?
Well, now we are going to get a chance to do just that. We are planning to release a series of interviews with recognized jewelry artists and the Jewelrylessons.com members will get a chance to select just which questions they want to ask!!!
This is how it will work: POST HERE a suggestion of your favorite artist, someone you would like to read an interview about. If you have their contact email or website, include that too (makes our life easier).
Every so often, we’ll select and contact one artist from the list to see if they are willing to be interviewed. If they accept, we will post an announcement here at the site, and allow members time to add questions.
We will then compile an interview based on the most interesting, relevant questions and send it off to the artist. Remember, we might have to limit and filter the number of questions, so don’t be sad if yours doesn’t get answered – maybe next time.
We hope these “group interviews” will be fun and very informative!
If you would like to suggest an artist, post their name, email and website below.
Note: you can only post names if you are a registered member of this site. Login or register for free now!

Eni you are a myth for me, can I interview you (only 3/4 questions) for my blog?
http://www.gufobardo.blogspot.comEni, I know this technique (Lenkas), in Italy is called 'tombolo' and the bobbins 'fuselli'. There are schools for this!
http://www.gufobardo.blogspot.comI have too many favorites! O.K., wire: Eni, Iza Malcyzk. Sharilyn Miller. You have contacts with them already. Polymer clay, plus glass, Cynthia Toops and Dan Adams, cdbeads@earthlink.net. Metal clay: Irina Miech, I guess you would reach her throughhttp://www.electica.com and Gordon Uyehara, gordon@honudream.com. Enough for now. John
Well, you can scratch Mr. Uyehara. He's interviewed in the May 2009 issue of"Art Jewelry" magazine.
I would love to see an interview with Desiree McCrorey. Although many polymer clay artists are inspiring, I love that she also incorporates wire into her work. I think that many wire workers would find Desiree's work to be very interesting.
http://desiredcreations.com/index.htmlI would love to see an interview with Bobbi Wired (I don't know her real name) of My Wired Imagination.etsy.com. Her work os so gorgeous! Dawn

I would like to see an interview with anyone who works exclusively, or at least primarily, with copper, and would like to ask: besides the obvious ease and cost factors, why? + what was the hardest challenge you tackled and beat with copper? + what's the most unusual tool you use to make your pieces? + how the heck do you seal the stuff for those customers who are not copper purists and don't want to see it/wear it turning green on their skin and yet don't want to risk allergic reactions to solvents and chemicals in the sealant? Much appreciated, Marian
I would love to read an interview with the amazing Iza Malcyzkhttp://www.izamalczyk.com/en I am in awe of the work she does. Failing that the very talented Eni Oken!
In order to broaden our perspectives and draw an audience, I think it would be great to interview either Gwen or Florence, or both. I met Florence when she came to a local bead swap a couple years ago, but I've never met Gwen. They are both amazing designers of beaded beads. They are also successful on the business front.
http://www.beadinfinitum.com/I would like to see an interview with Christi Freisen of CForiginals.com. She incorporates beads, wire and lots of other cool stuff into her fantastic pieces, and she seems like a lot of fun and a very approachable person.
I second the motion for an interview with Christie. I have taken some classes with her and you are right - fun and very approachable. Her teaching style is what I call "guided discoveries to success". Lots of artistic freedom with a safety net.
I agree with many that have already posted but would also love to see an interview with Erin from EarringsbyErin. I have one of her pieces and it is incredibly detailed and perfectly executed. I admire the balance and elegance in even a very simple design and she is so encouraging and passionate about her art. If I lived in Australia (or she lived in the States) I would make a special effort to take classes from her! EarringsbyErin@Etsy.com

I like many artists but Iza Malcyzk would definitely be my first choice!
I'm discussing with Christi and she seems excited about the ideas -- as soon as she gives me the green light I will post the thread for questions!

If you want to reach for the stars - Barbara Berk is one of my all time idols in this medium!!! A true innovator....

Many of us will recognize some techniques that we now consider common, and some that others have more recently thought of as 'new'.

Ok, I sent requests to Erin, to Gwen & Florence and to Iza and Barbara Berk too. Let's see what they say... And reminded Christi as well.
And Gwen and Florence have agreed to be interviewed!

As I answer the questions about my own beginnings in beading in my interview (thank you all for this opportunity), one name keeps coming up: Carol Wilcox Wells. I don't know a seed beader who doesn't own her wonderful book.

Please consider interviewing the following memorable wire jewelry artists with the same set of questions for each. My fave artists to interview would be Preston Reuther, Mark Lareau, Eni Oken, Sharilynn Miller, Ricky Jorgensen, Remy of Studio Heath who sells a tutorial that offers Natty Wraps's style, & Robbie Ward of Metallique Bijou.

Also Magdalena Atelier's work is SOOO cool - but she's disappeared from view!?! Iza's been interviewed & thanks for that Eni! God knows we all love & pray for Iza's good health & continued flawless tutorials! Thanks! Juli ;)
Natty Wraps Rocks! On Ricky Jorgensen's online store, this link tells of his courageous story that led him to create wonderful wire jewelry DVD's.:http://www.libertywireartworks.com/rickysstory.html
Preston Reuther introduced wire jewelry to the internet & I am most grateful for that! His courageous story is halfway down this link.

I would like to see an interview Magdalena Borejko, and thanks so much for Iza Malzyck's interview, she's a wonderful artist! And how about you Eni? You are great!!! ;-)
Dear Eni,
I fond this wire wrap artist called Jason Burruss. His work of arts are very refine and unique. You can check him at jasonburruss.com. He might not be well known among us but i do think he have something different to offer in term of wire art jewelry.
Another artists that i personally think they are great in term of designing are Magdalena, Iza Mgypsy Sheila Goh and Lynn Merchant.
