Carry Your Valentine

Description:

This pendant is also a photograph frame, so you can keep your loved one with you always.

I used Rosequartz hearts siver wire and Freshwater pearls.
A piece of clear plastic is used as a glass to protect a picture from damaging.
My printer is broken so I have used a magazine clipping instead of one of my own pictures to show the photo area.
But I think it's a very cute baby ;-)

Christianne,
What a beautiful piece. The hearts in the corner makes it sweet and delicate. The picture makes it lovable. The pearls and rose quartz gives a classic look while the wrap wire keep it in the modern style, wich means "what a stunnig retro stunning piece of jewelry.
:)

excellent idea wonderfully done-
Sandy

Very clever idea and beautifully framed.

I love the idea of crafting the wire into a literal frame. The heart shapes work well into the theme of this piece and it is well made. The only thing that I can think of that might help push this piece from good into the great category would be to take into consideration the shape of the image in the photograph when you design the frame. Look at the shape of the baby's head and hat. There is a really interesting thing going on there, with good positive and negative space. Take you cues from those shapes and design the frame to be an intregal part of the image that compliments and moves with the piece. Then you will have created an entire composition that is extraordinary. Just my thoughts, from one artist to another. I hope it is helpful. :)

Incredibly sweet and a PERFECT gift for Mother's Day or Valentines :o) Versatile too, as pointed out above - different frame shapes would work well with this design!

Dana

Very cool idea! Very sweet!
-Vera

Thank you all so much!
-Lisa- Thank you for that idea! I made the frame just for A picture not particularly this picture.
Actually I wanted to use a picture of one of my cats (he is such a gorgeous guy :-)) but my printer didn't work.
The idea of taking a picture and work the frame to match that picture, that is such a great idea!
I will definately think more on that.
Thanx!!

Lovely work and design. Great idea!

Wow, thank you all so much! I still feel like I am a beginner and there are so many things I feel I need to improve on.
So to get all these compliments from you and even telling me you are inspired by it, that is the biggest compliment you can give me!
So thank you!

sweet, I love it!

Where have I been? I'm so sorry, I just realized that I hadn't left a note about this piece - it is so sweet, and delicate - nicely crafted, beautiful.

May I ask how the photo is kept in place from the back? I didn't see a description of it anywhere, and you know me, a sucker for the pretty little details!

This is so lovely!!! What an eye candy...makes me happy just by looking at it! Beautiful work!

Thank you all for your nice comments!
I totally forgot to make a picture of the back and it is sold now, so I can't make one, but I'll try to describe it.
I attached a frame that was slightly bigger than the front inner part of the frame on the back.
It has 2 wires going from the bottom up inward with the ends spiralled outwards, but within the frame.
The wires are woven together for sturdiness and keeping the picture from sliding to the side, this is what is holding the picture, but you need at least half hard wire for the base wire, so when you pull it back to add or take the picture out it will snap back in place easier and hold the picture better.
The front has to be smaller, so the small protective clear plastic front (I didn't have glass that was thin enough, but this works well) is resting on it and doesn't come out of the frame.
It is open at the top, so you can exchange your pictures.
This is how I did it, but there are a lot more ideas on it.
I keep on getting more inspiration for different designs, since it is so versatile.
Now I need the time to work on them :-)

Thanks, Christianne! I was just wondering, because it is so neat in the front. Sounds like it was just as neat in the back! Congratulations on the sale, too!
