Description:
So here is the next generation - no more diddling - this is serious business now!!!! LOL Like I'm ever that serious..... Trillion cut CZ, because I'm going to risk the LOS, and didn't want to risk a stone. I love the way you get a fractal-like pattern in the way the coils overlap, then the triangle stone is offset, then the base is offset yet again. |

Well Ms Perri! The tute is fantastic and this extension is just as good. Keep em coming hehe.

Gorgeus, have you written the tute ??? I am waiting for it!!
Just simply beautiful Perri. Those tight coils are so tiny and precise. How are your eyes when you do such fine, intricate work? The magnifier lamp has become a good friend of mine as I try to age gracefully. How do you coil so small and not get headaches? Oh, and I love your photography. Very professional.

Thanks, Lisa! I've worn bottle glass lenses since the second grade - so I made really good friends with my opthamologist, and he hooked me up with great glasses for this work - no headaches! Can't see a dang thing when I look up, but who needs to see anything but the wire, anyway? LOL
Hey, the coiling is why I wrote two free tutorials on the subject: Back to Basics - Handwrapping Coils and Coiling with a Drill . The project description on the latter says it best: Making coils that are 10+ inches long by hand is not my idea of a good time. I make the small coils separately when I can, and wrap by hand when it is needful for the design. You still need to finish them properly. Saves my hands and wrists for the tough stuff!

I can't even begin to imagine, so please tell me. What gauge of wire are you working with? Are you running a wire through the coiled part? How do you even make coils that small to begin with? The smallest I have done is 26 gauge around 20 gauge wire. I do it all by hand small wire around bigger wire.

Beautiful both with and without LOS, but I like them dark :)

Dawn, 26g and 30g. I think you need to check out my two free tutorials - Back to Basics - Handwrapping Coils and Coiling with a Drill. Pictures are worth a thousand words! I don't do every coil by hand - just the ones where it is necessary for the design. All of my bails and knotted pieces are hand woven, for instance. Some folks are absolute purists when it comes to this - but my past injuries tell me that there is no shame in doing it the easy way when possible, only painless and beautiful pieces. :^))))
