A real beauty

Description:

This is not my picture But I am happy to say this is my stone. It is a Black Agate Druzy. The reason for posting in the gallery is for jwagner324 (jeannie). She made a beautiful bracelet Artisan and I could not get over how the beads in her bracelet looked very closely to this beauty. So one thing led to another and I have posted it for her to see. This stone is tucked away in a drawer just waiting for the right beads to accompany it..maybe I have found them..mmmm
Thanks for looking PennyLane

How big is the bead Penny? It might look really good with sardonyx...

Wow that is gorgeous!! I looked at it large to see those details and that's a very nice stone. I can see why you are waiting for just the right accessories to go with it, and I can see how you were considering those hand made beads that are cream and black from my bracelet. I have a rectangular peruvian opal waiting on some "perfect" accents too. :) Sardonyx sounds like a good pairing, chloe_s_mom...I've also seen agate with "stripes" in it... very dramatic.

Unless it's a trick of the camera, I see blues, pinks, browns and creams in there too, along the fault line. You may want to consider adding some color in there as well. :) Can't wait to see the design for it when you find just the right pieces!

Holy Moly, Penny, - that's one awesome piece of rock!! It sure is super gorgeous!! Please promise to post and show us when you make a piece of jewellery around this.

I have some beads/stones/cabs that might be related to this beauty of yours. No, they're not the same in any way, except that they are also stashed away, waiting either for the perfect company, or for the right design.

Ros, while YOU might look good with sardonyx, what do you think about the bead? Mwahahahaha!!
(Sorry, couldn't resist. Especially as I make lots of typos too..)

LOL, Thanks for that Silver fox, I just snorted my coffee thru my nose...(laughing) Okay, I'm all right now. lol. The stone is BIG but not too big 56x24x8mm. I promise you I will post it when it is completed.

Thanks for the silliness Silverlox - I just love my typing, especially late at night. Need spell and grammar check on JL. Typo about to be fixed.......back to the sardonyx though, I'm picturing big flat coin shaped sardonyx, with a faint line running thru them, forming the necklace. Maybe some fluffy, chunky pearl dangles too

Oops"! Sorry about that, Penny! You need to see it as an experience and education.

After countless accidents with a "spray painted" monitor and Coca-Cola marinated keyboard, I learned the hard way never to hold, nor try to ingest any type of beverage while on JL.

Food is also out, as you'd do well to avoid anything that can be a choking hazard. LOL

56x24mm is a nice substantial size for a focal, and like you said, not too big. I like substantial! As long as you won't develop a hunch back from wearing ,kjthe piece, it should be fine size wise.. ;-)

You're welcome Ros! Eh.. Your typing sounds strangely familiar. You know, I think we might have the exact same brand. Problem with spell/grammar checks is that they never catch typos that are actual existing words. I use an online spell checker that checks everything I type, not that you'd ever guess when you see my results. Yes, especially those late night texts when you're so far past your sell-by-date that Zombie mode would be a vast improvement. LOL

Hmm... Yes, flat beads, like in coin shaped sound very good, actually! Since this bead is flat and square, coins would be a great addition of shape and texture, big, without looking too bulky.

Fluffy AND chunky, at the same time? Awesome combination! I love it! LOL

I'm also with Wagner on the colours, provided they aren't a trick of the camera. The above mentioned pearl clusters would be a perfect way to mimic the colours in this stone. Or perhaps little druks or crystals as spacers in those mild, and lovely colours glinting in the focal.

However, since I'm really a sucker for pearls and they come in all kinds of gorgeous colours, I think that's my favourite suggestion so far. :-D

Fluffy and chunky - I think that term fits nice fat pearls well! Bec grouped together in puffs, they are light (fluffy without the fuzz) and chunky! hahahaha!

And, Penny, you could, since it is drilled, do a nice headpin and bail.

Ros

Thank you ladies for your fun, ideas and friendship. Did any one take a look at Jeanne's bracelet; it is quite beautiful. Did you see the similarities?.
I just wanted to point something out, that almost caused diet coke to do a quick wash up on my laptop, but I stopped short. What made me do that, you ask??? I just got thinking... IF there were Aliens out there and they could read this particular thread...I wonder what they would think?
Bye Bye Penny
