Description:

Top row. left to right:

Multicolor Picasso Jasper, Rhodochrosite, Rhodonite. Exoctica Jasper.

Bottom row, left to right:

Multicolor Snow Jasper, Dendritic Quartz, Chinese Writing Stone, Sea Sediment.

First, the Multicolor Snow Jasper. I have no idea if this is a genuine stone or one that has been manufactured. It looked different from anything I have seen, so I bought it. Purchased on Ebay fro, a seller in Hong Kong, Gemgogo. Also from this seller, the Rhodochrosite.

The Sea Sediment. I have seen this called different names. I believe I also bought this on Ebay from seller pgaun78, along with the Multicolor Picasso Jasper, and the Rhodonite,

The Chinese Writing Stone and the Dendritic Quartz fromhttp://www.greatcabochons.com

And one of these days, I'll work them into something.

Suzi

I love all your stones and was familiar with all of them except the multicolor snow jasper. :)

Dawn

Thanks, Suzi and Dawn. I haven't seen the multicolor snow jasper up for bids for sometime now. I just can't believe it is a genuine natural stone. But its pretty, so I bought some. It could be like some of the obviously dyed stabilized turquoise. I dunno.

John

John, I started coming across the multi-color snow jasper for the first time about a month ago and had the same question you have.. real or not? Regardless, I've put it on my 'next-to-buy' list. If you find out whether or not it's genuine/natural, let us know? I'm thinking dyed, but you never know in this world.

I just found another source of the multicolor snow jasper hoping for more info, but the stone still remains a mystery, Maybe some day we will know. Thanks for the comment. John

Very Nice Stones John!

Like everyone else, I love the multicolor snow jasper. I can't help you on whether or not it is a dyed stone of another type or a stone in itself either, I'm afraid.

I bought quite a few stones from an EBay seller who has high ratings, but some stones they gave me were dyed. And, when I was able to talk to another buyer (before the rule EBay put about communication) he helped me learn a lot about stones. He had bought from this buyer as well and given negative feedback, it's how I found him. So, I found out some of my stones were also just colored quartz. Now, most of the stones are what they said, but they give you about 1/4 or 1/3 of your stones dyed, or quartz or even glass, thinking if you see the real ones, most people won't question the rest. But, me being a beginner and wanting to know all about everything, started looking closely at my stones. When I couldn't figure out what some were, I looked through the sellers feedback & found a person who gave negative comments but in a decent way. I took a chance and sent him a message and he helped me a lot, until EBay stopped letting you message regular users.

Anyway, I just learned to be careful on EBay, and not buy wholesale lots! lol They are beautiful stones though and you'll make something wonderful with them, no matter what the stones are. Can't wait to see it!

Shae :)

Hi, Shae. Thanks for info. One stone that I got stung on was Phantom Quartz. The guy used some tricky lighting which made the inclusion colorful. When I got the stone it was dull brown, So, he lost me as a customer,

John

Oh, yeah sorry, I didn't mention the name!
It was EBay seller/store Design-Associates.

Now, they may be ok if you buy single gems, I'm not real sure. But the wholesale lots...I got the premium precious and got burned on that. I also got the cab lot and the turq. they gave me is dyed Howlite, and then the rest of the stones, I just got only about 3-6 of only 5 or 6 types of stone. It wasn't a good variety at all like they described. So, just be careful if you ever come across them. I hate having to give bad reviews, or say something bad about a supplier. But, I'd want to be warned. Anyway, they do have a good rating, so some of their things must be ok. It's just so hard having to buy online.

Shae :)

Thanks for the info, Shae.
