I am totally in love with jewelry! It doesn't matter who has made it or where it came from, I LOVE IT!
Never, for one moment, did I dream that I would be making it myself! I was always too busy to even work on the "crafts" that I loved, so jewelry making was not even so much as a thought. I had growing children plus I was working outside the home and adding parents that were in ill health on top of that. I was lucky that I could get anything extra done! I don't know where the time has gone, but the 3 growing children are now grown and I now have 2 grandchildren! My parents passed 13 and 6 years ago. I was still working until 2 years ago, when thinking I had a bout of bronchitis, turned out to be lung cancer. I had a lobectomy and with the hand of God covering me, I made it thru that surgery with flying colors! He also knew that he was going to have to give me something to do that was not going to be so stressful and not so exerting. I picked up my first "wire wrapping jewelry book" during my recovery. I've been hooked since that very day! I can't say that I'm great at it, but it has been so much fun and it has helped me heal in so many ways!! I donate a lot of my jewelry to our church for raffles. God gave me this talent and I want to share this with him as much as I can! I make things to give as gifts. I have sold very little, as I have yet to feel that the pieces are good enough to sell. I have had no complaints tho! *ha*
I'm forging ahead and learning more from this site than I could have ever expected! Thank you to all the teachers that are so dedicated to their work here. You all are such inspirations!
