This tutorial shows how to make a freeform ornate ring with a single stone set in an ornate spiraled bezel. This tutorial is difficult to demonstrate due to the random, almost chaotic nature of the design. Holding the ring and its components can prove to be a challenge at times, but the results โ€“ are worth it!

This was the tutorial That hooked me on wire work a while back when it was on EniOken.com. I have used the basic concept in so many ways!!! Thanks, Eni!

Thank you ladies!!! I'm glad you are *HOOKED* on it... it's so much fun to make once you get the hang of it!

LUV this Tutorial! I have this tute! Eni, thanks for all of the beautiful & affordable tutorials that you have shared over the years with the many folks wishing to learn this fine art! Thanks! Juli ;)

I guess everyone now knows I'm a PDFaholic!
Thanks! Juli ;)

This is a great ring! My only concern is the strength, as I fear when I'm wearing it that if it the cab gets caught again it will snap off (where the wire base does NOT connect to the ring form)--did I complete this incorrectly or are there any other ideas? TY!

If the cab is snapping off, then probably the spirals are not tall enough to keep the cab tightly inside the setting. Make the spirals slightly bigger next time.
I hope this helps,
Eni

Got it! Actually this was my first attempt and spirals were a bit too big, BUT the effect was a triangular setting, which is pretty cool imo. On my next ring I'll connect the spiral encased cab to a couple more spots on the ring shank, as that's where I have a bit of strength issue. Sent the pic through, hope it makes it here, everyone wants your ring! TY! Caco~

Thank you Eni, I made this ring and ist wonderful, i have not my camera, but when I have, I make a photo, very good Tutorial!!!!!!!!
