Supplier of large pear briolettes?
February 07, 2010
Does anyone know of a supplier that sells beads suitable for this tutorial. I am finding it very difficult to find a large flat pear briolette bead (7/8” by 1.5”). I am so keen to try Eni's netted cap tutorial but can't find a bead!!!

Hi I found on Ebay 40mm:
http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?LH_BIN=1&LH_IncludeSIF=1&_nkw=40mm+bead+teardrop&_ipg=200&_trksid=p3286.c0.m301This is my favorite seller on ebay they also have a web store.

Hope this helps.

Hi
I have bought some beautiful big tear drop stones from here before. I live in the UK and have found their shipping fast and reasonably priced.
http://www.vitabeads.com/pendants%20-%20briolette.htm
They have two sizes in the pendant section, the 30 x 40mm is approx 1 3/16 x 1 1/2" and the 22 x 30mm is approx 7/8 x 1 3/16".
You would be able to use either of the sizes for the tutorial.
Hope this helps.

You can make your own beads the exact size and shape and color(s) you want, including various faux looks. We can teach you how over at the sister site, Claylessons.com. Just post a Q and one of us will fix you up.
Thank you so much everyone for your replies. I have had so much fun browsing through the links you have all supplied and am amazed what is available! I had been using the wrong search terms!
Thanks again!!!
Nancy
I'll agree with Nancy, both good sites to purchase from.

Swarovski has "flat" briolette beads all over the place. E-bay has tons of them, including the semi-precious stone varieties that are harder to find in wholesale houses. Just search on "briolette beads flat" and have fun; watch out for shipping $ though and make sure your sellers are rated at least 99%. I just bought 3 9mm x 36mm garnet czs w/free shipping on a "Buy-It-Now" basis thanks to trying to answer this question. LOL But, they're gorgeous. My personal favorite supplier is still, Fire Mountain Gems and they have a large supply of Swarovskis, smaller selection of SP stones. No, I do not work for them, but I would if I lived there, I think. Marian
