Description: This lesson will show you how to create a Beaded Kumihimo Focal Piece approximately five inches long (including the cones). You can incorporate your focal in to a necklace as I have in the attached photo or use it as part of a bracelet. Kumihimo is a type of Japanese braiding that is traditionally done on a wooden stand. Luckily for us, we can purchase foam Kumihimo looms with numbered slots for less than $10. They make it easier for beginners to learn this technique. I use a “mini” loom in this tutorial but a larger one works just as well. You will need to know how to wire wrap a loop at the tip of a bead cone or endcap to complete your focal piece. If you aren't sure how to do this, look for a tutorial on creating a wire wrapped loop. I do not include detailed instructions on wirewrapping in this tutorial. Price: $5.00
