Post a Tip about this Tutorial

Lisa, I've read through your tutorial and I have to say it is fantastic and very easy to understand! The design is devine! I wish I had square wire to do this but I'm going to give it a shot with round. Wish me luck! :D

And to those who are considering purchasing the tutorial, pay no attention to the rating. So far there have been 2 voters who rated poorly that didn't even buy the tutorial. I HIGHLY recommend this tutorial!!!

Thanks, Endearah, for the heads-up about the Grinches. Despite their misguided and nutty machinations, I, for one, plan to spend my afternoon between turkey-basting times happily curled up with this tut and planning my supplies run to buy materials for this great tutorial.

Thanks also to Lisa (you're the WOMAN!!!) for making this tutorial available just in time for Christmas. It's one of my presents to myself.

Becky

I don't see how you can rate it without buying it. Although I have gotten patterns from artists at other sites and rated them here just to let others know how good they were. I've been lucky and not seen a bad pattern yet. I hope it's OK to do that. My curiosity is up about this one. It's a beautiful pendant, I want to see the tutorial so I can give it a rating myself. Hubby gave me money for Christmas so I could get the things I wanted and this is my first gift from him to me. Will read, try, and rate in between playing with grandson and stuffing myself with all the goodies. I'll have to wait to post a picture till my brother gets home, I don't have a card reader in this computer, it's on the got to get list.

Tammy

Hi April,

Thanks so much for standing up for me about the ratings. That was so great of you. Since you have read it, you are much more credible than anyone who just looks at one picture and rates my work on the whole thing.

You can use round wire with this tutorial. I just show it with square. I'd love to see your pendant when you are done. :)
Thank you again April!!

Lisa

HI Becky,

I sure hope you enjoyed curling up with this tutorial.
:)
I really wanted to get it done before Christmas and I just squeaked it in. he he

Thank you so much for writing! Wow, that was nice!

Lisa

Nice photos Lisa. :^))

As far as judging it on only one photo, last I looked, there were 6 wonderful close-up photos of the piece in the gallery, showing all sorts of angles. People have lots to judge from! Besides, the math says that if some gave it 'ones', someone also gave more, but less than 'five.'

Tammy, I can see why you are interested in this piece. It bears reviewing, and I will be interested in your review, too. :^D

Just a reminder - we have had discussions about what can be discerned from one picture - that is why the rating questions are worded in the way they are - so that the fourth question requires more knowledge to answer comepletely.

The links for these discussions are in the Q & A section. Some of them are here: http://www.jewelrylessons.com/article/understanding-low-ratings

and here: http://www.jewelrylessons.com/question/ratings-debate-those-favor-all-us...

I support people's rights to rate anonymously. I also realize that there will be some people who don't like what I post and rate my pieces based on popularity, not on the merit of the work. So be it. If my rates go down after this - what will that say? LOL

Please remember that educated critique can tell you how good something is, too! I've gone a little farther and pointed out what can be learned from great pictures, here:

Hey, the merits of the tutorial (whatever they may or may not be) will surely be discussed. :^)

Good Luck Lisa,

Perri

Tammy, I am honored to be on your "got to get list" too.

I hope you love your new pendants that you make. Please give me any suggestions you may have for improvement. I love to hear how I can make better tutorials.

Thank you so much!

Lisa

Lisa,

Having finally had the light bulb click "on" after reading one of your wire wrapping tutorials (and having no luck with countless others before it), I have no doubt that this one will be just as excellent. Anyone can see, from looking at your work, that you pay exacting attention to detail in all aspects, and that you would not put a tutorial out there for something of any less high a standard. So, this tutorial is on my wish list because I know it will be a good one and will teach me quality ways to finish the piece when I am done. I too have been learning to deal with the "non-purchasing tutorial raters." Frustrating, but they are out there and we just have to coach ourselves to ignore them, even if it IS easier said than done!

Dawn

I am right with you there Dawn, in coaching myself to ignore the the "non purchasing tutorial raters". Imho, it is very difficult to rate a book by it's cover, you can only get a glimpse of what is inside. I am so grateful for you to have faith in my ability to express my thoughts as I instruct and photograph the designs I have refined and presented in my tutorials. I am still learning, there is always room for improvement. Your input is invaluable to me, good or bad. I appreciate a good critique, if it is meant to be constructive and not hurtful--big difference.

I am so pleased that you will give this tut a try. Please remember I am here so talk to me, I love to chat with you.

Thank you from my heart Dawn.

Lisa

Lisa, I just wanted to say again that I am so impressed with the quality of your lessons, from the design to the superb and detailed images. Thanks for posting yet another beautiful lesson!

Eni,

I am thrilled to receive such a note from you. Thank you! I will strive to keep improving to bring the best I can to you and all my friends here.
:)
Lisa

Lisa,
I purchased your tutorial and I've read through it and it is amazingly well done, as are your others that I've purchased. The pictures are beautiful, clear and show great detail. Each step is to the point and not confusing like some. Thank you so much for taking the time to make this tutorial for us. I definitely think this tutorial deserves 5 stars all around!!! I would definitely recommend people to buy it and enjoy!

Linda

Oh my goodness Linda!!

Thank you so much! I did put quite a bit of time into it to present the project the very best I could.

I am so happy you are pleased! Really!!
:)
Lisa

Its a nice and elegant wire wrapped pendant, and thanks for making a tutorial, where I can use different size of stones.
Lise

Hi Lise,

You can use any size stone, just adjust the the wire to the stone, make the criss cross a little bigger if the stone is larger and vice-versa for the smaller stones. You can also use different shaped stones other than the tear drop shape that I show. It looks great on a rectangular stone or round. Just have fun exploring the possibilities.
Thanks for writing!
Lisa

Ok, just a note to students -- this tutorial was changed to level "Advanced", since it involves fine manipulation of wires on the front and back.
Thanks,
Eni

Thanks Eni!!

You're a gem!

Lisa

Hi Lisa Before I start wrapping my pendant with this tut. can I use any gauge wire? Also where can I find those nice large hole beads you have? Thanks Lynn

Hi Lynn,

You can use any gauge wire that is in proportion to your stone. I wouldn't go any thinner than 22 gauge for a large stone(over 25 mm). You need the strength in the wire.

I have had so many people ask for the large hole beads that I have included them on my web site. So you can take a peak there if you like.
LBjewelrydesigns.com Look in the accessories catagory.

Thanks so much for asking.

Lisa

I kinda figured that about the wire, mom told me this same thing, when she was showing me wire wrap, I just might have to take a peek at those beads. See Ya Soon Lynn

That's great Lynn. I look forward to it!
