Description: With this tutorial you will learn to make this lovely Puzzle Wrap for an undrilled single point crystal. If it is done correctly when you pull on the crystal the setting gets tighter. It works on the same principal as the Chinese Puzzle Trap. The crystal you use can be a variety of sizes. You can use many different kinds of round wire, Artistic, Sterling Silver, Gold Filled, and Copper wire. You can use gauges any where from 22 to 26. You will also learn how to make a Rabbit Ear bail. You can use this bail whenever you need a bail on any of your projects. After you have done a few of these pendants you will be amazed at how quickly you can make them. It is a great fast and inexpensive project. Credits:Several years ago I was asked to create a wrap for a single point crystal by the owner of the store I was making jewelry for. He showed me what he had in mind and I created this wrap based on that design. Since then I have been successfully using this wrap for all my undrilled single point crystals. At this time I have no knowledge of where this design originated from. Price: $6.00

This is such a great idea. I want, want and want to try this. In my collection there are many crystals and I never knew how to make a piece of jewelry from it. Often I am participant in jewelry courses and see other participants who want so much to make a single crystal pendant (often their crystals have a special meaning to them). Thank you for sharing!
Many greetings to you.
Ursula
Dear Pat,
Thank you for posting this wonderful tutorial. Do you have a good source online in the United states for reasonable priced crystal points?
With best wishes,
Riki
Hi rikimetz,
http://www.firemountaingems.com has some clear crystals item #H20-3551NB they also have some crystals in other gemstones but the problem is they have a small eye pin drilled into the top Item #H20-1271NS
There is another website that has some for $1.99each I've never bought from them so I don't know about their policies http://www.pelhamgrayson.com item #14621
The crystals I have I had for several years and I got most of them at Gemshows from independent sellers. If I find anymore sources I will let you know. Also the crystal you use does not have to be exactly like the one in the tutorial, this setting is very adaptable to other undrilled stones especially if they are longer rather than wider.
Thanks for the kind comment.

Thank you Ursula, I'm so happy you can set up your crystal points now. Loving gems many of us have a collection of pieces we have collected through out the years. We can display them but setting them up into something wearable can be a challenge. Crystal points are so lovely but very hard to make into something you would be able to wear. That's why I love this setting so much, it's quick, it's easy and you use such a small amount of wire that really helps to bring the cost down. Thank you for your kind comment. :-D

Dear Pat,
Thanks for your reply. I use Firemountaingems and love their service, but wish those points didn't have a bail. I found some for $2.00 and $1.00 each on Arkansas Crystals website and that sounds good to practice with. Did you have a particular size of point in mind? Like a minimum or maximum size so we know we are ordering/buying the right crystals?
Thank,
Riki
Hi Riki,
Did you see the clear crystal points without the bail on Firemountain Gems?
Almost any size crystal that's not to big to wear will work with that setting. You would have to make some small measurement adjustments but that's all.
The Crystal I used for the tutorial is 1 3/8 (3.45cm) long and 5/8th (7.5cm) wide and has 6 sides. If you get some crystals and are not sure about the measurements let me know and I'm sure I can help you get it to work.

Hi Pat!
Now I know what to do with all of those beautiful crystal points I have been collecting throughout the years! Thanks for posting this really cool design.............
Thanks so much Lizbeth, it is a great design for all those undrilled crystal points that so many of us have collected through years of having a fascination with gemstones. :-D

This is such a great design and done with my very favorite stone Amethyst. I always wondered how to wrap a stone that didn't have a hole. Thank you for showing us this great pendant.
I've been wanting to get this tut ever since it came out but like others I've been having trouble finding the right size crystal in the gemstone material I want ...perseverence will win out eventuallity. I found this site and will order from them and wish to share with others so they can get it, too...these are undrilled and the right size for the most part

Wow Kathy Thank You so much for that. The crystals they are offering on that site are just perfect. :-D The size of the crystal isn't that critical almost any size can be set up with this wrap, it's a matter of what you are after.
I'm going to post that web address in tips.
Thanks Again, Pat................. :-D
