Material List:
  • 6" 20g half hard round wire for each pair of ear wires
Tool List:
  • round nose pliers
  • flat nose pliers
  • cup bur tool (wire rounder)
  • ring mandrel
  • rawhide or rubber mallet or chasing hammer (or something similar)
  • wire cutters
  • measuring tape or ruler

I agree Beadydani, they are fun, and you can customize them to your unique piece when you do them yourselves (they're cheaper too).

Thanks Dawn for this freebie. I have tried the almond shape ones - they are easy to make and can make an otherwise simple earring into an elegant one, looking kind of unique.
I'm always looking for new shapes of ear wires and these are my favorite at the moment.

These are great! I was looking for something different and found this tutorial, I really like the almond shape ones & the tip about hammering to strengthen the wire is truly appreciated, you can really feel the difference :D
