TUTORIAL:

Spiral-Locked Link

Uploaded on: Oct 21, 2008

Description:

In this free tutorial, you will learn how to make a secure connector to use to connect clasps to cable, charms to chain, and to use as the secure loop to connect the clasp to. I use this for many things in my jewelry making. It is great for repairs, where a jump ring has failed, this connector will not.

The spiral essentially locks the end around the wrapped shank, preventing the connector from coming apart if it has a lot of tension placed on it by being yanked on or caught.

2birdz, I used this for just such a reason, needing something to connect many things to that would not come open easily. I also don't solder yet! I hope to someday though~

And thank you very much lindarosa! I hope you find many uses for it!

Thank you so much for sharing! I've been using plain wrapped loops, but this is so much prettier.

grazie tutorial molto utile e grazie per la condivisione!

This would appear to be just what I'm looking for, thanks! I have made an extremely loaded charm bracelet. I wire wrapped the ends of the chain to the toggle parts with a bead in the middle but they seem to get in the way at the bar end. Hopefully, this will be much neater. Thanks again!
