TUTORIAL:

Swarovski Crystal Bracelet

Uploaded on: Sep 10, 2008
Level: Intermediate
Description:

The bracelet in this tutorial is my personal favorite. Although the techniques are basically the same the, tutorial shows you how to make 2 totally different bracelets - so you actually get 2 TUTORIALS IN ONE PURCHASE. The materials listed are for the primary design, the Crystal bracelet, but materials for the second bracelet are listed in the tutorial itself.
I've listed this tutorial as intermediate, but I've had many, many beginner wire wrappers take a bash at this, with wonderful success.

Material List:
  • Materials to create a basic 7 -7 1/2” bracelet: I prefer GF wire but you’re welcome to use sterling or even copper – ½ hard or dead soft
  • 48” 20g square wire
  • 9” 22g wire (square or round)
  • 32” 16-20g ½ round wire (I prefer the heavier gauges in ½ round wire and ½ hard for this project – it forms crisper wraps)
  • Minimum 12 6mm cube crystals
  • Optional: 2 4mm Bali spacers per crystal
Tool List:
  • wire cutters
  • ruler
  • flat-nose pliers
  • round nose pliers
  • large round dowel or something similar for forming - optional: tape
  • Sharpie marker
  • cleaning cloth.

This has got to be the best written tutorial ever made. This design also give you so many creative ideas for other things to make, along with the other tutorials that Bobbi has. If you don't see one on this site, go to her stores as well. I have been so inspired by Bobbi's creativity, that it has been such a blessing. HUGS BIG TIME BOBBI

Thank you! that website is great! however I cannot find the middle beads for the mother daughter bracelet http://www.jewelrylessons.com/jewel/files/content/tut/mother%20daughter%...
It is stunning, and I really want to buy the tutorial, but not if I cant find the same/very similar beads if you understand!
Thank you!
Samantha

Hi Samantha - I absolutely understand! The center for one set of Mother/Daughter bracelets is not actually beads. It's Sterling Silver pattern wire, and I do cover that variation in the tutorial. The other set is 4mm Swarovski instead of 6mm. My favorite site for pattern wire is RioGrande.com... Hope that helps - happy creating

Bobbi - What gemstones et al would you use to make this look more masculine?

JKay Jewelry
http://www.jkollmann.etsy.com

Hi Jill - A lot of the darker natural stones work really well for the masculine look - ie - hematite, tiger eye, black onyx - also the large plain pattern wire - the wide band variation in my student gallery http://www.jewelrylessons.com/jewel/node/10736 was made specifically for a man, and has a very masculine feel to me.

Hi Bobbi - beautiful work. Like someone mentioned extra hours would be great. I do have to work at my pay check job.

I looked at your story teller bracelet with awe. Do your beads represent a real story. I can think of lots of ways to use this concept. I think a mother or family type bracelet using your idea would be superb.

I've taken a couple of wire classes, but I have to get up my courage to start projects. I"m considering a couple of your tutorials. My initial thought is that they look much easier to follow than some of my books.

thanks.
