TUTORIAL:

Woven cabochon Setting

Uploaded on: Feb 01, 2010
Level: Advanced
Description:

This lesson shows how to create a woven bezel setting for a triangle cabochon, though it can also be adapted to a square cabochon, or any cut with a number of pointed corners that can be secured.

For this tutorial you should have some experience with weaving. Note: If you aren’t used to weaving parallel wires evenly, have a little practice first with some scrap of cheaper wire until you can confidently weave with the wires staying the same distance apart.

If your cabochon is larger or smaller (or if you want to try it with a square cabochon) it is easy to adapt the tutorial to fit the stone. I roll the stone along a piece of string and then measure it, adding the desired length for a bail.
